A team from Baylor University’s Institute for Studies of Religion leads a workshop to take place during Templeton World Charity Foundation’s First Annual Global Scientific Conference on Human Flourishing that aims to create a durable and diverse community of researchers, funders, and innovators that will work together to advance intersubjective understanding of flourishing across cultures and disciplines.

Research shows that high-quality listening is deeply related to curiosity, self-insight, the discovery of virtues, and intellectual humility. This workshop will bring together international and local researchers working in diverse fields related to listening and human flourishing to brainstorm a programmatic research agenda on this topic. It takes place during Templeton World Charity Foundation’s First Annual Global Scientific Conference on Human Flourishing.

Research suggests that intelligence to be intelligent is to care. Thought leaders and scientists will gather in Nepal to explore how the bodhisattva commitment to care for all beings may be applied to biological, artificial, and hybrid intelligences. The workshop takes place during Templeton World Charity Foundation’s First Annual Global Scientific Conference on Human Flourishing.

An interdisciplinary team including a philosopher, neuroscientist and theologian will examine how kinship relations including ancestral & spiritual actors, influence health-seeking behaviors in Uganda. The project aims to help healthcare evolve in a way that recognizes interconnectedness.

To counter the influence of dystopian thinking when studying near-term advances in artificial and collective intelligence, this workshop will use human flourishing as a lens to look at how humans could thrive in different possible futures of intelligence, and identify key drivers that could limit human flourishing if appropriate action is not taken.
