Building on the findings of the TWCF-funded project, Landscaping Regional Research and Leadership Capacities for the Study of Human Flourishing in Mexico, Colombia, Chile, and Brazil, this project aims to establish a sustainable ecosystem to advance research on human flourishing across Latin America.

Led by Enrique Tamés-Muñoz at Tecnológico de Monterrey (Tec) the project seeks to strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration and create lasting infrastructure for the study of human flourishing in the region. Its main objective is to promote research and collaboration among scholars and institutions while fostering new initiatives through the creation of a regional academic association and an open-access trilingual journal in Spanish, English, and Portuguese.

Key activities include:

  • Formalizing a community of more than 80 researchers as the founding members of a Regional Association for the Study of Human Flourishing, which will oversee and sustain the journal.
  • Engaging sponsors and academic decision-makers to ensure long-term viability and institutional support.
  • Connecting with graduate students to cultivate the next generation of researchers.
  • Designing and launching the journal, featuring open access, interdisciplinary sections, and a medium-term funding plan.
  • Organizing a hybrid event to present the results of the regional research mapping study and launch the association and journal.

The journal and the association will serve sustainable collaboration with institutions including Tecnológico de Monterrey (Mexico), Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, and Universidad de los Andes (Colombia), alongside researchers throughout Latin America .

This project will lay the foundation for a regional network that advances high-quality, locally grounded research on flourishing, strengthens institutional collaboration, and amplifies Latin American voices in global academic dialogue on flourishing.
