A research team led by Carlos Chacón Monsalve and María Fernanda Gallego Ortiz at Fundación Instituto de Ciencia Política Hernán Echavarría Olózaga (ICP Colombia) hypothesizes that offering training courses based on the Austrian economics theory principles favors the performance and enhances the life-expectancy of Colombian micro- and small businesses.

The team aims to train 5000 business people with these courses, and will use different methodologies to collect, process, and analyze the extent to which the ideas delivered through the training have been internalized and applied by its participants. The final product of the project will be a peer-reviewed paper.

In the long term, the team hopes that the project will influence public opinion and will help shape the decision criteria of policy-makers related to entrepreneurship as well as offer a roadmap for other think-tanks and educational organizations in the Latin American region who may be able to replicate this pedagogical strategy to train audiences of their interest.
