TWCF Board Chair Announces Presidential Succession Plan

By Templeton Staff

On December 1, 2023, Templeton World Charity Foundation’s Chief Operating Officer Venentia “Tina” Cambridge will become the foundation’s interim President and COO. This appointment follows the eight-year tenure of Dr. Andrew Serazin ending on November 30, 2023.

“On behalf of the Templeton World Charity Foundation Board of Trustees, I want to express our deep gratitude to Andrew for the remarkable work he has done in building a fledgling operation into the dynamic and growing organization that TWCF is today,” says Jeff Dill, Chairman of the TWCF Board of Trustees. “When he announced his departure, we recognized that we could build on his legacy and launch into our next phase of organizational development.”

Having worked with Andrew for nearly four years, Tina currently oversees all operational and administrative functions of the Foundation. She has supported the President in leading the Foundation and providing support to TWCF Program Directors. Additionally, she has been responsible for the design and implementation of business strategies, plans and procedures to enhance the Foundations operations in support of its strategic goals.

During Tina’s tenure, the foundation’s core grant-making business will remain unchanged. The strategy of funding a pipeline of Discovery, Development and Launch opportunities will continue, as will the Foundation’s priority areas within research, tool development and dissemination. In her new role, she will focus on strengthening operational capacities.

Tina has honed her organizational management expertise for more than 35 years as an industry leader, most recently having led and developed the Caribbean operations for one of the world’s leading Insurers, Generali Worldwide. She received a law degree with honors from the University Wolverhampton, as well as a certificate in Alternative Dispute Resolution from the University of Windsor. She has been designated a Certified Manager by the Institute of Certified Professional Managers and maintains an Association with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. Tina was appointed a Justice of the Peace for the Commonwealth of the Bahamas under the Magistrate’s Act by order of the Governor General in 2017.

“Because of Tina’s extensive operations and management background, the Presidential Search Committee feels comfortable slowing down the process for hiring new leadership,” says Dill. “We’re excited and grateful to have a strong team in place that will advance our growth and evolution through this timely transition.”

Following an organizational review conducted by the Board of Trustees and its interim President, a new presidential search will commence.
