Syman Stevens

Advisor to the President

Syman Stevens is an advisor to the President, supporting the planning and implementation of foundation strategy.

Dr. Stevens studied physics at Furman University, theoretical physics at the University of Cambridge, the philosophical foundations of physics at Columbia University, and philosophy (AOS physics) at the University of Oxford. He and his wife, Mary Catherine, are alumni of the Trinity Fellows Academy, where Dr. Stevens’s focus on science and religion provided the opportunity to work alongside Dr. Francis Collins in establishing the BioLogos Foundation. Following his doctoral studies at Oxford, Dr. Stevens and his family returned to Trinity Fellows Academy, where he served as its fourth Director. From 2017–2019, Dr. Stevens served as a Program Officer at Templeton World Charity Foundation.
