Avery Lloyd

Avery Lloyd is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a master’s degree in fine arts and a bachelor’s degree in history. She obtained her teaching certification through Catawba College and taught both history and English in Salisbury, North Carolina, and at Guilford Technical College. For 10 years, Ms. Lloyd ran her own florist and decorative accessories store in Salisbury, North Carolina. 

Born in Winchester, Tennessee, Lloyd is the granddaughter of Vella Handly Templeton, Sir John Templeton’s mother, and a member of the John Templeton Foundation. She is a trustee of TWCF and of the John Templeton Foundation, and currently serves on TWCF’s Grants and Programs Committee. She is also a member of TWCF and the John Templeton Foundation’s Strategic Planning Sub-Committee, chairing the International Grants Working Group, and has served on the John Templeton Foundation’s Member Committee since its inception.
